Boing was founded in 1999 as a problem solving service for the emergency services and the general public. Our catchphrase was “Bounce your problems off us!” – hence our unusual name – Boing!

Our original concept was for an internet data system of local businesses which allowed the general public to gain access to a variety of services fast and efficiently. This grew very quickly as contractors realised that a small fee would give them a listing and the opportunity to receive local enquiries for their services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Negotiations began in March 2000 with Norfolk Constabulary who were interested in making use of our Boing database to reduce the large number of non-emergency calls coming into its police headquarters 999 emergency switchboard, and in November 2001, we opened the Boing Response Centre in order to meet this need.

Today, using the latest IT technology, our dedicated and well-trained staff offer a round-the-clock service to many police organisations across the UK, as well as to fire & rescue, local authorities, border control, customs & excise, inland revenue, and charities such as Help the Aged and Age Concern and those supporting the victims of crime - and members of the public too.

We have developed into a ‘One Stop Shop' for solutions to a myriad of problems that could not strictly be classed as police emergencies. Some police forces direct their non-police related calls direct to our 0800 number, whilst others give out a recorded message giving out our 08450 678999 number. Our database of contractors is police specific containing only approved tradesmen, and all our calls are monitored and recorded.

Our Keyholder Data Register integrates fully with all our databases giving up-to-date records of contacts for premises in case of an emergency, and other additional services can be integrated into our systems.
