keyholder
database
If an incident occurs at your home or your business
premises when you are away, during the night or on holiday,
the police and emergency services need to be able to
contact a keyholder instantly in order to gain access and
respond to the situation.
If they have no record of who owns or operates from your
property, or have no contact details for you or those who
live or work with you, then the delay in gaining that vital
information is not only frustrating for the police, but
could prove costly for you.
1.
When you register your details with Boing (UK)
Limited’s Keyholder Scheme you are joining a
comprehensive database of registered trusted keyholders for
residential and business properties, with 24-hour contact
details and other vital information that might be needed in
the event of an emergency.
2.
The Keyholder Register is used by police and emergency
services who need to access vital information such as: Who
has the key to the property? Can they be contacted quickly?
Is there a preferred contractor should a window or door be
broken and need repair or boarding up?
3.
Additional information can also be included, such as where
the stopcocks and electricity inlets can be found should
there be a fire or flood and whether there are any
chemicals stored on the premises.
4.
For just £25 per year for business premises and only £12
per year for residential properties, you will gain peace of
mind by knowing that the police will be able to contact the
right people during an emergency at your property.
5.
The information you supply to us is bound by the Data
Protection Act 1998 and you can rest assured it will only
be used by the police and emergency services.
6.
Even if you already have an alarm, being on the Keyholder
Register is still of invaluable help to the police. If your
alarm company is not linked to a central alarm station
which informs the police of the activation and then
contacts the keyholder, the police will have no way of
establishing who your keyholders are. There may also be
times when, although your alarm has not activated, the
police still need to contact you.
7.
Similarly, you may be a member of a Homewatch scheme, but
there will be times when the police are called to your
premises and the necessary information to gain access to
your home is not available, such as in the middle of the
night.
8.
If you are registering business premises with us then you
can have up to five keyholders on the register and for
domestic premises you can have two keyholders. Extra
keyholders can be added for £3 per name.
9.
Data recorded on the Keyholder Register can be amended and
updated free of charge at any time by simply telephoning at
the local rate on 0845 0678 999. The line is open 24 hours
a day and there is no charge for amendments, except where
you are adding an extra keyholder name.
10.
